My favorite gallery on the Eastern Shore — for years, I dreamed of having my work featured at Bishop’s Stock. Owner Ann S. Coates has been a tireless promoter of the arts across the state of Maryland. Her wonderful shop regularly hosts the top artists in the mid-Atlantic region, with exhibits changing monthly. Bishop’s Stock is the only gallery that carries my complete line of unframed prints.

The Salisbury Zoo is one of the best small zoos in North America, and features everything from bears, bison and jaguars to an exhibit of animals that roamed the Eastern Shore at the time it was “discovered” by Capt. John Smith. My “Flamingos” print, which debuted at the 2012 Zoobilation celebration, is available unframed, along with a full line of zoo-related stuffed animals, T-shirts and toys.

Located in a sun-drenched shop across from the theater where “Misty of Chincoteague” premiered more than 40 years ago, Sundial Books is one of my favorite places to idle away an afternoon browsing books and talking old-time rock ’n’ roll with owner Jon Richstein and his wife, Jane.
