ERICK SAHLER SERIGRAPHS WARMS UP WINTER

There’s nothing like the idea of a nude beach party to get us thinking of the warmer days ahead. These designs began with a rejected headline on a newspaper story about the nude beaches that still exist on Assateague Island. “Bare Assateague” was my suggestion, but my publisher said, “No way!”

I resurrected the idea on a three-color silkscreen poster that was a hit when it was released in December. Over the holidays, I designed a companion piece, “Big Assawoman.” It will be available Jan. 18 at Third Friday in Salisbury, Bishop’s Stock in Snow Hill, Bungalow Love in Berlin, Sunnyside Shop in Cambridge and at www.ErickSahler.com.

Both prints are signed open editions. They measure 11 x 17 inches and will sell for $65 framed and $25 unframed.

ISLAND CONCERT PRINTS AVAILABLE AT SUNDIAL BOOKS

A giant thank you to Jonathan and Jane Richstein of Sundial Books in Chincoteague for allowing me the opportunity to design the poster for the first-ever New Year’s Eve concert at the historic Island Theatre, where “Misty” premiered in 1961. Sundial is a fabulous independent bookshop that has helped lead the effort to restore the Island Theatre. My three-color hand-pulled silkscreen concert poster is limited to 50 signed and numbered prints, available exclusively at Sundial Books. The cost is $40, and proceeds support the Island Theatre. SOLD-OUT ‘CATNAP’ RETURNS IN NEW LARGER SIZE

The original 11-x-14 inch “Catnap” design was printed during the last week of  2011 and the edition of 45 sold out last fall. I have reworked the art to 16 x 20 inches, the size of my larger prints. I will hand-print the new three-color design in mid-January with the goal of 100 signed and numbered prints, all with the orange background.

The prints will be available Jan. 18 at Third Friday in Salisbury, at Bishop’s Stock in Snow Hill, Bungalow Love in Berlin, Sundial Books in Chincoteague, Sunnyside Shop in Cambridge, and at  www.ErickSahler.com.

Prints are $105 framed and $65 unframed.

A NOTE OF GRATITUDE

Thank you to all of you who have supported me over the past year. I entered 2012 with little more than the faith that God would put me on the proper path as I began to find my way in this new career. It is through your generous support and kind encouragement that as 2013 dawns, I look ahead with excitement and joy. There are many new projects in the works that I can’t wait to share with you in the months ahead.

Again, thank you. I am so grateful.

All the best,
