Erick Sahler Serigraphs Co.  |  News Winter 2014

Thanks to WBOC-TV and the folks at the “DelmarvaLife” news talk show for naming Erick Sahler Serigraphs a “Delmarva Treasure.”

Veteran journalist Lisa Bryant and videographer Zak Kimball visited the print shop in early February to record an interview and gather footage for a wonderfully thorough segment that aired on Feb. 11.

Lisa did an incredible job telling my story and explaining the silkscreen process, and Zak’s artistic camera work and crisp editing make the piece sparkle.

I am grateful for their efforts, and their piece is something I will proudly share for years to come. You can view it here.

When the bitter-cold winter of 2014 froze my pipes and shut down the print shop, it presented the opportunity to create a batch of new artwork and separations for upcoming projects.

My just-finished “Whitehaven Ferry” silkscreen print will debut Feb. 21-23 at the Better Living Show at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury. It came about as a collaboration with local government to promote tourism in Wicomico County. I have lived near the Wicomico River most of my life, and after 47 years it’s still a kick to make the crossing by ferry.

I also completed artwork for three new My Hometown Series pieces which I’m very excited about, including the Assateague Lighthouse, Cambridge Creek and the Oxford Ferry. All three will debut this spring and can be viewed on the SHOP page of

A collection of rare Erick Sahler Serigraphs silkscreen prints will be offered at two separate shows this spring.

On May 16-18, a selection of No. 1 prints and Artist Proofs of sold-out prints will be available at the Oxford Fine Arts Fair, a juried invitational show in Oxford, Md.

My No. 1 prints available include “Blue Crabs,” “Choptank Oysters” and “Offseason O.C.,” as well as No. 1 prints from all my 2014 editions. Artist Proofs to be released from my personal collection of sold-out editions include “Downtown Salisbury,” “Boardwalk GullFriends,” “Discover Assateague,” “Swing Bridge” and “Wallops Island.” It will be the only time in 2014 that these rare pieces will be available in the same setting.

During Salisbury’s Third Friday event on April 18, I will present a selection of silkscreen Monoprints, which are one-of-a-kind pieces created by combining the artwork from different designs onto single prints. The results are abstract, and often feature surreal imagery. I have been collecting my favorite Monoprints for several years and this is the first time they will be offered for sale.

Erick Sahler Serigraphs is delighted a selection of my silkscreen prints, postcards and notecards are (drumroll, please!) available for the first time in my hometown of Salisbury.

Pemberton Pharmacy & Gift on Pemberton Drive and Pemberton Too in the Sea Gull Square shopping center started carrying my work in December 2013. It will also be available at Pemberton Pharmacy’s new shop in St. Michaels, set to open this spring.

Thanks to Craig Schury and Angie Gore for allowing me to be a part of the Pemberton family.

There are a couple changes recently completed to improve the Erick Sahler Serigraphs “total package.”

  1. I could not be prouder Erick Sahler Serigraphs now uses eco-friendly all-wooden frames made right here in Maryland. These high-quality frames are created using wood moldings from sustainable forests, and are designed and built in downtown Baltimore.

  1. I have eliminated all shipping charges from, which simplifies the process of ordering online and aligns my prices with the shops that carry my work.

  1. Eagle-eyed observers may notice a new signature debuted on my artwork in 2014. The reason is no one — not even me — could decipher my old signature. The new one is crisp and legible, so maybe folks will stop asking if I am “Lil Cal.”

As always, I am grateful for the support of every one of you.

All the best,

The new signature
