THREE NEW PRINTS IN THE WORKS FOR FALL DEBUT

Judging by my event schedule, you may think I’m taking the summer off.

Actually, I’ll be in the print shop for the next three months preparing new silkscreen prints for the busy fall season. Art in the works includes new editions featuring the venerable Memorial Hall at the University of Delaware, a new twist on the old Bethany Beach totem pole and a collaboration with contemporary poet Ghost Gardner of Salisbury.

As always, thank you for your support and I look forward to sharing my new work with you.

All the best,

THANKS, CHINCOTEAGUE, FOR YOUR SUPPORT

A giant thank you to Sundial Books and its patrons for the enthusiastic support of “Swing Bridge,” the newest print in the “My Hometown” series.

The 10-color, 16-x-20-inch silkscreen print debuted on Memorial Day weekend, and in two weeks sold more than three-quarters of the edition of 120.

Clearly, the old bridge that was the gateway to Chincoteague Island for more than 50 years still holds a place in the hearts of residents and visitors alike.

Prints are $115 framed and $75 unframed, and are available at Bishop’s Stock in Snow Hill, Bungalow Love in Berlin, Red Queen Gallery in Onancock, Sundial Books in Chincoteague and Sunnyside Shop in Cambridge, while supplies last.

ERICK SAHLER SERIGRAPHS AVAILABLE IN ONANCOCK

A special welcome to the Red Queen Gallery, located in the heart of Onancock — a haven for art-, food- and history lovers on the bayside of Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Owner Mary Ann Connelly has converted the old Rogers & Bro. Building on the corner of Market and North streets into a spacious gallery featuring paintings, sculpture and crafts from some of the mid-Atlantic region’s top artists. Beginning this June, Red Queen will offer all my framed prints, as well as a selection of ArtCards and tees.

NEW ZOO PRINT FEATURES POPULAR SPECTACLED BEAR

The second print in my series promoting the Salisbury Zoo features the ever-popular spectacled bear.

The zoo has hosted the endangered South American species — also known as the Andean bear — for decades. Earlier this year, three-year-old Chaska arrived to replace Poopsie, the oldest-living spectacled bear in captivity when she died in 2011.

My seven-color, 11-x-14-inch silkscreen print will debut June 22 and sell for $75 framed and $35 unframed. It joins my 2012 “Flamingos” print, and a new zoo print will be released in the spring of each year, coinciding with the annual Zoobilation fundraiser (more below).

RECORD AMOUNT BID FOR “ST. FRANCIS” PRINT NO. 1

Thank you to the bidder who paid $525 for my
“St. Francis” print No. 1 at a recent auction/fundraiser for the St. Francis de Sales Catholic School. That’s a record amount for one of my prints, and the school and I are grateful for your support.

Since 2011, Erick Sahler Serigraphs has donated more than $2,000 in artwork for fundraisers supporting Chincoteague’s Island Theater, Delmarva Public Radio, The Salisbury School, UMES scholarship fund and more.

“Spectacled Bear” print No. 1 will be auctioned to benefit the Salisbury Zoo at the Zoobilation fundraiser on Saturday, June 22. Call 410-742-3977 or email Cathy@RenewTheZoo.com for more information.
