“Surfer Girl” (2020)

The legendary Sunshine House on Coastal Highway at 63rd Street was Ground Zero for Ocean City surfers and skaters in the 1970s and ’80s. I was lured in by the colorful T-shirts dancing on the breeze. This print pays tribute to a number of old friends, including Joseph Craig English, who made a lovely silkscreen print of the old Sunshine House in Bethesda, the Jeep CJ-5 I owned back in high school, and, of course, surfer girls everywhere.” — Erick Sahler
